School has started and summer is soon to fade away. I thought that I might offer some advice on returning to school and practicing your own flavor of paganism on/around campus.
Yes we are active during the summer! Check out our Event calender on this website and see what we are up to!
USU needs a pagan alliance. A place where minority Polytheistic faiths and practices can gather and feel a sense that they are not alone. My name is Kassie and I am the founder of USUPA. I come from a background of diverse religious practices and understandings and want to create a haven for those like me to Logan, Utah. To show that we are here, we care about are community, educations and selves and to have a chance to communicate with those like us.
I’ve noticed a severe lack of options for Pagan students and I think there is nothing worse than feeling like the only one. Hopefully I am not. *wink. The USUPA’s goal is not to provide any formal initiation into any particular tradition but to provide a place where we can all express ourselves, learn from each other and show and help the community with our hearts and hands.
USU provides a unique opportunity to open a positive door into the Logan community and show the residents the loving side of Paganism. I’ve experienced an intense feeling of family and love in other Pagan communities and really it’s only fair that we show that to other people. To have open and honest discussions from the heart about our spirituality and practices and to take away the negative impressions and the anti-social behaviors.
We must actively embrace our place here. My life has brought me here and I intend to make the best of it and I’m not kidding myself about how difficult this might be. But I am putting out the call. I know there are others out there. My vision is to have an active, supportive Pagan community here at USU, where people aren’t afraid and embrace us and show good stewardship over ourselves, our University and this beautiful valley.
If you are Druid, Wiccan, Voodoo, Heathen, Hermetic, Buddhist, Shinto, Hindu, Shamans, Asatru, Witch, Tree-hugging Dirt worshipers, Animistic, Pantheistic or are just interested in Alternative Religions then please join me. ( by no means is this a comprehensive list. We will gladly welcome all!! )
If you are interested in helping me start this Alliance and be a founding member please contact me here, leave an email address and I will get back with you. Sadly at this moment I am only opening officer positions and membership to currently enrolled students at USU but will take into consideration other members at a future date.
May your days be blessed and I hope to speak with you soon.
