http://www.go-utah.com/Riverside-Trail/
From 11 am to 12 pm
We will meet at the national forest sign. Dogs, kids and Friends welcome. we will walk up to 2nd dam…further if people want. It’s an easy hike. Let me know if you would like a ride. Bring water and a bit of a snack.

SAMHAIN!!!

Oct. 30- 6 pm to when we are done. All ritual players that have speaking parts are required to attend.

We will walk thru and practice our parts until everyone is comfortable.

Oct. 31-

All participants to bring a stand alone photo of ancestor or an ancestral item for the altar and an item for the potluck.

**for those struggling with the ancestors photos….you can also bring “ancestors of the spirit” people who have past that have inspired your life (Einstein, Cunningham, JFK…etc) but remember to bring an item that represents them or a picture.**

Ritual players may dress in the colors of your element. ( blue =East, white/silver=West, red=South, green=North)

Here is the ritual.

samhainfinal

Please be familiar with it before you come. If you have questions please ask. we want to make sure everyone is comfortable. Please wear fire safe clothing (tie back big sleeves, big hair or props (ie- wings, tails) Again everyone is welcome to wear costumes but be mindful of the weather. It is totally appropriate to bring something to change into for the ritual.

Members please stay after the feast to help clean up.

Oct. 24

Oct. 24-from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Center of Cache Valley (596 East 900 North). We will be rehearsing for samhain. All those involved with in playing a direction or guardian YOU MUST ATTEND( yes it’s mandatory, yes I’m serious and yes I’m tired so I’m being overly clear)
If you don’t know what you are then ask.
If you can not attend then you need to tell me (kassie) in advance and either give up your part or ask someone else to do it. This is a long ritual and we need to be sure about everything.
Those who are not active players in the ritual this is totally optional.

Oct 31 from 6 pm to 11 pm  We are hosting an open Samhain ritual- open to community, friends, family and anyone curious to what one of the major pagan festivals really entails.

Costumes are welcome but warm, comfortable clothing is suggested. Also be aware that you will be around open flame so please dress carefully.
Please bring a framed, stand alone picture or item of a deceased loved one as well as an item for the potluck if you are attending.
A copy of the ritual is posted on our website for your viewing. You MUST RSVP for this event. So please either reply on FB or send us an email.
Please write and let me know what you are bringing for the potluck. If you want an assignment just say so.

9/25

Come visit with all us cool pagans at citrus and sage from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, September 25th. There will be a bit of a business/ announcement meeting at the beginning but no lesson is planned. time to chill.

9/18 news and various announcements

So meeting went well yesterday. The statesman seemed honestly excited about us, and got some good information about who and what we are.

It has been decided that we will help with National Coming out day and do a carnival booth, still need good ideas for activities and everyone to sign up for a shift on Oct 11th. The event runs from 9am until 2pm. A mandatory National Coming Out Day Committee meeting on Wednesday, September 22 from 5-6.30pm. If  at least one representative from your group can attend that meeting-It is very doubtful I will be able to make this so i need a volunteer to go! . Set up will be performed communally between 8-10am. We will need people to sign up to fill all the times if possible I will do my best to come up with a sign up sheet and post it here somehow. We will set up with a booth where we have a carnival-esque game. Tickets will be given away by all the game booths for a chance to win a raffle at the end of the day.

We are going to do cupcakes on Oct. 28th. and decorating them and baking them the Wednesday night before (the 27th). We can either do this all at my house or you guys can each bake a dozen and then bring them over to decorate and we can watch a movie or something. I think $2 per cupcake is fair. I’ve never done  a bake sale so I don’t know for sure. then maybe do 2 for $3? We will run from about 10 am to 3 pm.

Next Saturday-9/25 will be Witch’s Tea. We will just meet and chat. there is no lesson planned. We will meet at Citrus and Sage Cafe at Noon and chill until we are tired of each other. It’s a good time to bring friends or people curious that have questions too. I (Kassie) may not be there as it is my wedding anniversary.

October 2nd Anya has volunteered to do a class on Wicca, it’s history and practice.

October 15th or 16th we will have our first Pagan Movie Night, so we need to think of a good one. This event will be open to all, we will try to have it on campus, like upstairs in the student club center (pretty sure they have a big tv up there). It was suggested we do a fact or fiction type thing with the movies and help dispel myths even though it’s a fun movie. Suggest a show and I can get it on Netflix or see if I have it.

It’s been suggested that we move weekly meetings to possibly Friday nights around 7 pm. It might work better for people that work Saturdays or need Saturdays for family or such. I need everyone’s input on this before we make it official so either talk to me at meeting or send me an email.

I think that is all for now..Please remember to submit your Member bios!! Feel free to use an alias here as well. If you don’t specify then we will just use your first name and last initial.

Thanks all! Bless.
