The river is exceptionally high and feisty so while we can’t use the patio, the grass is super nice. If anyone wants to put in for part of the ritual let me know.

Ritual

Kassie rings bell 9 times and says:

Let us now offer to the Earth, who is our mother, so that we may honor and revere her.

All kneel and place heads to the ground/kiss the Earth.

Kassie gives corn meal to fire pit  and says: We build our fires on the breast of the Earth; On her our hearths are formed. Let us now make our offering here And make this place our sacred space. Mother of All, please receive this gift!We build our fire here, honoring this place. May the Kindreds bless us and all our endeavors. Biodh se!

The People say: Biodh se!(bee shay=So be it!)

Kassie pours offering of oats into the river and says:

As our Ancestors did, so do we now. We have come here together to honor the Good people and welcome the summer. May the Noble Ones attend us. We are here to celebrate the Feast of Midsummer and to call on the Shining Ones to bring us bounty this season.

The People: Biodh se!

Kassie pours cream to the tree and says:

Shining Ones! Gods and Goddesses of this place, known and unknown; Deities of those gathered here, we offer you welcome! Come to our fire,Dear Ones; meet us at the boundary. Sweet Spirits accept our sacrifice!

A staff is passed to each person, as this is done it is asked that they name their personal Patrons, if any, and make a praise offering.(to the fire, water or tree-environmentally friendly ones please)

Kassie says: Hail to thee, bright sun of the seasons, As thou traverses the skies aloft; The steps are strong on the wing of the heavens, Thou are the glorious mother of the stars. Thou liest down in the destructive ocean Without impairment and without fear; Thou risest up on the peaceful wave-crest Like a queenly maiden in bloom.

Kassie says some words on what the land needs now from us, leads a meditation and ends the ritual with 9 bell chimes.

6/11

Kassie will be out of town for the weekend so no formal meet up is scheduled for the group. Go out and enjoy the farmer’s market, some breakfast from the Crepery or a nice walk in Cache National forest.
