Reminder….

Reminder to everyone attending: If you are a club member and have not paid your $5 annual membership fee, please bring it with you to the ritual on Sunday. If you are not a club member but are attending then please contribute a $5 donation. It really helps the group pay for the supplies and the rental fee of the location. Thank you everyone.

**Also please introduce yourself to me and the other officers, if we haven’t met you all..I will be dressed as a witch with a peacock feather in my hat and a pin-up style black dress.  I’m pretty sure your handsome secretary, Andrew will be wearing a kilt and I’m not sure what Alicia,  your beautiful treasurer will be dressed as but we will make sure you find her too. **

SAMHAIN!!!

Oct. 30- 6 pm to when we are done. All ritual players that have speaking parts are required to attend.

We will walk thru and practice our parts until everyone is comfortable.

Oct. 31-

**for those struggling with the ancestors photos….you can also bring “ancestors of the spirit” people who have past that have inspired your life (Einstein, Cunningham, JFK…etc) but remember to bring an item that represents them or a picture.**

Ritual players may dress in the colors of your element. ( blue =East, white/silver=West, red=South, green=North)

Here is the ritual.

Please be familiar with it before you come. If you have questions please ask. we want to make sure everyone is comfortable. Please wear fire safe clothing (tie back big sleeves, big hair or props (ie- wings, tails) Again everyone is welcome to wear costumes but be mindful of the weather. It is totally appropriate to bring something to change into for the ritual.

Members please stay after the feast to help clean up.

Food/Items for Samhain

Oct. 24

Oct. 24-from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Center of Cache Valley (596 East 900 North). We will be rehearsing for samhain. All those involved with in playing a direction or guardian YOU MUST ATTEND( yes it’s mandatory, yes I’m serious and yes I’m tired so I’m being overly clear)
If you don’t know what you are then ask.
If you can not attend then you need to tell me (kassie) in advance and either give up your part or ask someone else to do it. This is a long ritual and we need to be sure about everything.
Those who are not active players in the ritual this is totally optional.

Oct 31 from 6 pm to 11 pm  We are hosting an open Samhain ritual- open to community, friends, family and anyone curious to what one of the major pagan festivals really entails.

Costumes are welcome but warm, comfortable clothing is suggested. Also be aware that you will be around open flame so please dress carefully.
Please bring a framed, stand alone picture or item of a deceased loved one as well as an item for the potluck if you are attending.
A copy of the ritual is posted on our website for your viewing. You MUST RSVP for this event. So please either reply on FB or send us an email.
Please write and let me know what you are bringing for the potluck. If you want an assignment just say so.

Cupcake stuff

So we have all the supplies for carnival on monday and this is what you need to help with the fundraiser….

Then Micheal’s has a cupcake decorating stand -just Halloween style stuff) near the registers that has treat bags. Get the candy corn or skeleton scrolls – the ones you can mostly see thru. and then the cupcake wrappers are above that and get whatever type you like.

All the frosting stuff and more packaging supplies is at Kassie’s so you can either come to the decorating party or drop off your baked cupcakes for decorating at her place Wednesday night. Try to make your cupcakes Tuesday night or Wednesday day if at all possible.
If you want to do rice krispies, cookies or other food type items that’s fine…just get them over to my place to be packaged Wednesday night. If you are doing smaller items you are welcome to buy smaller bags of course. keep them Halloween themed though..since well..that’s just fun.

October Events

Oct 9 from Noon to 2 pm. SHOPPING around town ( meet at kassie’s) We need to get supplies for our cupcakes and our booth for the GLBT coming out Carnival. We will plan out what we need and then go out to get it all. We can walk to Michael’s /hobby Lobby/Halloween store from here if the weather is nice and those places should have all our supplies.
We will be evenly dividing up the cost and using club funds where possible. If we raise enough money during the bake sale then we will do our best to reimburse everyone

10/1 EDIT*****

We will be meeting in the east facing old main lobby
( the one that empties out onto the Quad- guarded by Abe Lincon and George washington statues)
you should be able to park in the lot to the south around that time with no charge
( although you can only get into it from 4th north these days.)
If you are really confused park at the bottom of old main and hoof it up to the back end of the building.
after we have collected everyone we will find a room to snag hopefully one close to the lobby.
