more about Day on the Quad

Day on the Quad is September 1st. Check in is between 8 am and 9:15 am. It starts at 10:30 am and goes to 2 pm.
We need a dark blue table cloth that will fit an 8 ft table if someone can procure one for us. All are welcome to come and hang out, help answer questions and bring something interesting to look at. (good pagan… books, statues, candles etc)

In case of bad weather it will be held in the ballroom and sunburst lounge in the TSC.

I get out of class at 10:20 am ( in old main) so I should be there by opening. Andrew will hold the table for us.

news and business

Group fees due by September 4th ( $5 per person). This is a yearly due and will help us to be able to afford all the sweet activities we have planned. We also will have a member info sheet for you to fill out at the next meeting.

If you have ideas for the raffle basket then let us know- we will be drawing tickets for it at Pagan Pride Day in SLC on September 11th (as soon as i get permission from the coordinator- so stay tuned for news with that) but i have not decided how much tickets will be yet. Should be a lot of fun and hopefully put us a big step ahead of raising our funds for a fantastic Samhain!

Witch's hike 8/28

28 August · 11:00 – 13:30
Location Third Dam

Next week we will be doing a group hike. Please bring a camel back or a large bottle of water for the hike. I have 6 camel backs if anyone needs to borrow one.
Wear good shoes (no flip-flops or street shoes. something with substance) and bring a walking stick if you need.
Bring some snacks and a bit of lunch if you wish. we will be talking about local vegetation and getting to know the land around us a little better. We can do a …meditation with the land spirits too so maybe bring a bit of something for offerings ( fruit/water/loose tobacco) if you all are interested in that.
If you need a ride I am more than happy to come get you, just let me know in advance.
If you are unsure about how to get to the trail-head then we can all meet at the rangers station on 4th north at 10:00 am ( we will leave the ranger station at 10:30 sharp). If not, then see you at the trail-head at 11 am

***How to get there***
Destination: Crimson Trail
Trailhead: Guinavah Campground, 6.5 miles from Logan; or Spring Hollow picnic area, 7 miles from Logan
Elevation Start/Max: 5200/6000 feet
Length: 2 miles one way
Trail Information: Spring Hollow is just beyond the Third Dam. Cross the bridge and drive straight up the paved road to picnic tables. The trail starts at the small bridge. The Guinavah trailhead is across the bridge near the amphitheater parking area. Use caution in descending the short scree slope as you come off the China Wall at the Guinavah end. There is steady climbing at each end, but the view is worth the effort.

8/21

We will be meeting at Citrus and Sage coffee shop at 11 am on Saturday 8/21.
I haven’t made plans for a lesson yet. I’m sure I’ll think of something. Maybe we will plan for Samhain and talk about what the celebration entails. All else fails, come have tea and chat.
Please remember that we will be taking a group picture right after tea so come prepared. We can carpool up there and I will do my best to keep it painless.
We also need just THREE more USU students to sign up for the club in order to be recognized by USU, gain our non-profit status and to generally be awesome. So send anyone curious or interested our way so we can get this going before school starts on August 30th.
Thanks!

8/14

On Saturday 8/14,  from 11 am to 12:30 pm we will be having our weekly meeting called “Witch’s tea” at Citrus and Sage coffee Shop at 130 North 100 East in  Logan, Ut.

We will be discussing grounding/centering and shielding techniques. We will snag the yoga room if we can after tea and general business is discussed so we can have some time to guide everyone through the techniques. If you are interested in the group or have friends that are please come, this will be  a great meeting.

Also, doing paperwork makes me really cranky and I would like us to have all our applications submitted to USU BEFORE the start of school. This gives us certain privileges ( like funds) and will allow us to do some really neat things.  We still need 5 more USU students to sign up..so get me your contact information ASAP.

Also members, get your bios to me please…our members page looks woefully barren. If you hate this idea…then tell me.

Thanks and peace. see you this weekend!
